Existing products

okay, To get me more inspired with designing a dress, I did some research on existing products. I looked at different shops and websites, here they are :

This is an image of a cocktail dress. This gives me an idea of what  style is popular at the moment so that I can design a dress like this for the special occasion event.
The fine detail on the front of the dress makes the dress very unique and interesting. This is an example of a flowy dress made with several thin delicate layers.

This is an image of a ‘made over’ kimono style cocktail dress. It is made with silk, which makes the dress look very elegant. I also like the gathering technique used in the dress.

This is another image of a cocktail dress. It has a very unique design at the front of the dress which makes it very eye catching. The fabric used is satin, and it is very suitable for a special occasional event. The colour makes the dress look very bright and lively. The strap around the strap gives the dress the shape.

This is an image of a celebrity wearing a kimono style cocktail dress to a premiere.  This tells us that kimono style dresses are quite popular in modern days.
The dress has a strap around the bust area, and it has got batwings sleeves. The dress looks simple and comfortable.

This is an image of kimono style dress. The dress has been either dyed or printed on with bright vibrant colours. The designs on the dress are floral patterns. The dress has a deep V neckline and it is tight around the bust with a strap, then flowy at the bottom. It looks similar to the dress I showed you on top, but this has more colours to it which makes the whole dress very eye catching.

This is an image of a traditional kimono . Basically the garment is a wrap over and is secured by the thick strap around the waist. There are floral prints and different types of lines as decorations on the fabric. The decorations are in bright light pink colour whereas the background colour of the kimono is black. This makes a contrast and so the designs would stand out.

This is another image of a kimono style dress. It has a deep V neckline and it is quite loose at the top. There is a strap on the waistline to give it it’s shape and it is fairly tight at the bottom. The colour is very dark and dull, but it has bright colourful floral designs on it.
